It has been eleven years since I last last saw my sister Erin and her husband Kevin, my nephew Chase (now about to turn 15) and my niece Kyli (who turned 11 in March). I met my eight year old niece Regan for the first time yesterday.
And you know, in many ways it's as if I had never left, mainly thanks to the Internet. The conversations my parents and I have been carrying on via Twitter have picked straight up. Fortunately it hasn't been eleven years since I last saw my parents, but it has still been too long.
My sons Ricky and Jack are getting to see where I come from now. Ricky was actually born here, but we moved to England when he was six months old. The last time Jack was here he was two. Now they're learning about me and where their half-Americanness has come from.
Today I meet my new daughter for the first time! The main reason we've flown to Texas now is because my oldest son Braden is getting married next Saturday. I'm nervous and excited about meeting Heather, mostly excited.
Now it's time to get the boys out of the hotel pool and hot tub and get ready for another fantastic day with my Texas family!
